Hidden Valley is a rock climber’s paradise. From a distance, the granite formations seem drab; Insignificant. But under closer inspection you find beautiful desert colors, cracks and crevices, and a serious challenge. I consider myself a strong hiker, and a decent climber. But when facing the gigantic and smooth nature of the rocks, I realized that there is more than meets the eye at Joshua Tree NP, and especially within the Hidden Valley district.
